August is the season of heather. Let’s go to Burbage to see the beauty of the purple flowers.

On Saturday 28 August, we’ll take bus 272 from Sheffield to Fox House, one of the famous pubs in the Peak. The walk starts from the pub, along Burbage Rocks to Upper Burbage Bridge. We will have lunch there and go back by Fiddler’s Elbow, passing Higger Tor and a beautiful packhorse bridge. We’ll take the same bus back to Sheffield.

Time and location to assemble: 9.30 am at Sheffield Interchange D2

Returning time: we’ll take the same bus (272) back, arriving at 2.46 pm.

Transportation Expenses: (buy tickets yourself)

  • You can buy City Bus Day ticket (£ 3.5) on the bus. It is a daily ticket for all buses running in Sheffield City.
  • If you have student Ucard, you can buy student single bus ticket for just £1 for each trip.

Things to bring:

  • Money for tickets. (Although you may pay it by card, we strongly recommend you prepare cash if the machine doesn’t work.)
  • Packed Lunch
  • Water

How long is the walk?

It’s about 7.2 km, we estimate to finish it in 3 hours and 45 minutes.
