Have you ever been to Leeds or have you been there but have no idea about the history of the city? Join our day trip with our volunteers to explore the beauty of Leeds.

Where will we visit?

The day trip will take place on Saturday 6 November. When we arrive in Leeds, the first place we will visit is the Royal Armouries Museum. This is home to Britain’s national collection of arms and armour, more than 8,500 objects on display in 6 impressive galleries, the museum covers some 3,000 years of armour and weaponry from across the globe.
After visiting the museum, we will head to the Leeds Corn Exchange, which is one of England’s finest Victorian-era buildings. Designed by Cuthbert Brodrick and completed in 1864, the building is now home to an eclectic variety of independent boutique shops, galleries, and cafés.
Continuing the trip on Leeds high street, we will go over to Kirkgate Market and Briggate (The Arcades). As one of the largest indoor markets in Europe, Kirkgate is the independent shopper’s paradise, where the famous M&S brand first started in 1884. The Briggate area is famous for its historic shopping arcades, many of them of architectural significance, famous and spectacularly beautiful Victorian arcades, built in late 1800 to early 1900.
After looking at the high street, you can have an hour to hang around the shops and cafés over there. And then we will return to Leeds train station and take a train back to Sheffield.

Where/when to meet up and how much is the ticket?
